4 Cured-In- Place-Pipe / Pipe Relining Tools and Supplies
Cured-in- place-pipe or also known as pipe relining is a trench less pipe rehabilitation method. It causes minimal destruction to property and the environment which makes it a cost-effective solution. Pipe relining is also one of the most dependable repairs a sewer line can have. The reason why CIPP or pipe relining is effective, practical and safe is because of advanced tools and supplies. We will be taking a look at the major equipment used in pipe relining.
1. CCTV Pipe Camera
Most modern pipe repair solutions are not complete without a CCTV pipe camera. Of course, pipe relining uses such tools for investigating the sewer line. Just so you know, checking the condition of pipes in the past was a complete hassle. The pipes have to be dug up to be visually checked. Fortunately, such mediocre methods aren’t used any more. The camera makes it easier and faster to see the status of the sewer line. Plumbers will check if there are any massive clogs that might hinder or impede the operation. 2. Cleaning Equipment
A clean and clog-free pipeline can make pipe relining a whole lot easier and faster. There many tools that can be used for clearing the pipeline but the most used are water jets and augers. Water jets produce forceful water torrents that clear away anything in the pipes. The water pressure is so strong that it’s able to flush out roots in the sewer line. The only drawback in using a water jet is that it might completely destroy fragile sections. Another tool used for clearing a pipeline is augers. Keep in mind these mechanical augers are specifically designed for removing obstructions in the sewer line. This is a safer tool for sensitive or crumbling pipe linings. The problem is that it isn’t effective as water jets.
This tool is created to keep the resin liner on track. The bladder also helps in setting the resin liner in the pipeline. The reason why the bladder is perfect for positioning is because it’s very flexible. The tool is able to go through the pipeline despite the irregular curves and sharp pathways of the sewer system. The bladder becomes inflated to force the resin liner to stick on the inner lining of the pipes.
4. Resin Liner
The whole process of pipe relining centers around the resin liner. The tools that are used for this method help ensure that the resin liner will be fitted in sewer line. With all the work poured into inserting the liner, it would be practical to only use the quality kind. There are actually three liners that are commonly used for pipe relining. These are epoxy, vinyl ester, and polyester. Vinyl ester and polyester are basically the same with its properties and features. The only difference between the two: vinyl ester is more corrosion resistant. Epoxy is the strongest and long-lasting among the resin types. Epoxy resin has one advantage: it takes the longest time to be cured or hardened.
