1.Pipe Material

The thicker the walls, the better it copes with temperature changes. Pipes that have thin walls are very easily affected by deterioration, structural damage caused by the pressure inside it and the pressing weight of the dead load above it. While thick walls can resist crushing pressure imposed by their load, thin-walled pipes are weak against it and get dented in a short time. Corrosion also does a quick work in penetrating thin and weak pipes.

The service years that a pipe has under its belt certainly affects its performance as well as the plumbing systems. The older the pipe gets, the lesser structural leverage it has to withstand varying factors that causes a pipe to deteriorate and weaken.
